These days we see many organizations allowing mobile technology to embrace the organization, its communication and even in some cases its systems (departmental and enterprise).

This is purely with the because of handy devices becoming capable  of handling  the information seamlessly and virtually 24X 7 there by making employees more  accountable under the banner of flexibility.

The extension of this thought process may lead to many/most traditional enterprise systems obsolete.

Does this mean all organization enterprise systems need to be mobile compliant and there by CIO   becoming little more than a mechanic wearing a green eyeshade?

In short CIOs need to be smarter than even with clear road maps, strategies and smart processes to be custodian of organizational information while being flexible to offer the information in most secured way on all platforms

Would Mobile technology kill the CIO?
